Biography

Emilio Rangel

With a catalog formed mainly by sculptures, Emilio hones his technical work in the direct contact with the material. He generally uses epoxy clay as a medium. This element allows his practice to always be ludic, evoking the games that naturally unfold when experimenting with a malleable material, as we all did in our childhoods with clay. The final product is an object with a character close to handcraft, but with the heritage of a solid contemporary art school that winks at pop modernity. His work is accessible to any audience, since it alludes to the sense of humor in contemporary society from the recycling and consumption of culture images, using cartoon as a visual resource.
